Log Erosion Barriers (LEB's)
Log Erosion Barriers are logs placed in a shallow trench on the contour of a hillside to intercept water running down a slope and trap sediment. LEBs are used where erosion rates have increased significantly because of a major fire; they are installed in order to retain small amounts of eroded soil and create protection on hill slopes for permanent vegetation to grow, leading to long term erosion control. A singular 12ft LEB costs $45.00 to install.
Our goal is to install as many LEB's as needed over the course of the next ten years.
